Terms of Service

Owner Optional provides educational content and courses for business owners, primarily in the tree care industry. Everything we publish and sell is education: information, frameworks, and the lessons of experience.

Our content is educational only. It is not legal, financial, tax, accounting, or other professional advice, and it is not a substitute for any of those. Decisions about your business, including legal structures, contracts, hiring and firing, taxes, insurance, and finances, should be made with qualified professionals who know your situation. We will sometimes point out topics where you should talk to a professional; that is us telling you to get real advice, not us giving it.

We teach what has worked in real businesses. We do not guarantee it will work in yours. Your results depend on your business, your market, your people, and most of all the work you put in. We make no promises of income, revenue, growth, time savings, or any other specific outcome. Anyone who guarantees you those things is selling you something else.

Purchases are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card number. Prices are in US dollars and are shown before you buy. For courses sold on a pre-sale or "founding" basis, delivery is on the schedule described at the time of purchase (for example, modules delivered weekly). If a delivery date slips, we will tell you directly rather than pretend it didn't.

30 days, no hoops. If you buy a course and decide within 30 days of purchase that it is not worth what you paid, email parker@getowneroptional.com and we will refund you in full. No forms, no exit interview, no hard feelings. Refunds go back to your original payment method and typically appear within 5 to 10 business days, depending on your bank.

When you buy a course, you get a personal, non-transferable license to use the content for your own business education. You own your business; we own the course. You may not resell, share, republish, or redistribute course content, or use it to build a competing course. Free content on the site may be shared with attribution and a link.

Where products involve access credentials, keep them to yourself; access is for the buyer, not the buyer's whole crew, unless the product says otherwise. Don't use the site to do anything unlawful, don't attempt to break or bypass its security, and don't scrape it.

The site and its content are provided "as is." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, and our total liability for any claim arising out of the site or a product is limited to the amount you paid us for that product. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, and nothing in them takes away consumer rights you have under the law where you live.

If you materially violate these terms (for example, redistributing paid content), we may suspend or terminate your access. If we terminate your access without cause, we will refund the unused portion of anything you paid.

If we change these terms, we will update the date at the top. Material changes will be noted on this page. Continued use of the site after changes means the updated terms apply.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to conflict of law rules. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Illinois, and both sides consent to that venue.
